FBM242 high-performance discrete output module
The FBM242 is a high-performance discrete output module in Foxboro’s I/A Series. It is mainly used in industrial automation control systems to convert digital signals from controllers into analog signals required by external devices. Below is its detailed information:
- Output Channels: 16 isolated channels
- Applied Voltage: 15 to 60V DC (maximum)
- Load Current: Maximum 2.25A per channel
- On-State Voltage Drop: 0.2V (maximum) at 2.25A
- Off-State Leakage Current: 0.1mA (maximum)
- Redundant Input Voltage Range: 24V DC +5%, -10%
- Maximum Power Consumption: 3W (maximum) at 24V DC
- Electrical Isolation: Each input and output is electrically isolated. When used with external excitation, the group isolation function further enhances the module’s anti-interference capability, ensuring stability and safety in complex industrial environments.
- Multi-Voltage Support: Supports discrete output signals within the 15–60V DC voltage range, and also compatible with 120V AC/125V DC or 240V AC relay outputs.
- Fail-Safe Configuration: Provides fail-safe configuration options. It can automatically switch to a safe state when a fault is detected to avoid damage to on-site equipment.
- Communication Redundancy: Supports redundant 2Mbps fieldbus connections and can receive communication from either path (A or B) of the redundant 2Mbps fieldbus. If one path fails or a system-level switch occurs, the module will continue to communicate via the active path.
- Durability: Features a robust acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) exterior. According to ISA standard S71.04, its housing provides various levels of environmental protection, up to harsh environments (Grade G3).
